As part of the Eurodrone program, you will be building the "brain" of one of Europe's most advanced unmanned aerial systems. You will play a pivotal role in developing the Flight Control System (FCS) and Flight Management System (FMS) that will define the next generation of autonomous flight. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge software engineering and high-stakes aerospace innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Focus: Safety-Critical Software Development for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
  • What You Will Achieve: In this role, your work directly impacts the safety and autonomy of the Eurodrone.
  • Embedded Implementation: Developing and optimizing high-integrity, safety-critical code that powers flight-critical functions.
  • Model-Based Development: Utilizing MBD workflows to design, simulate, and implement complex control laws and system behaviors.
  • Lifecycle Ownership: Participating in the full development cycle—from architectural design and modeling to rigorous testing and verification under DO-178C standards.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Working alongside multidisciplinary teams of aerospace and software experts to solve the unique challenges of unmanned flight.

Requirements

  • The Foundation: Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Computer Science or in a related field.
  • Embedded Expertise: Proven experience in embedded software development (ideally C) and a deep understanding of real-time constraints.
  • Model-Based Mindset: Experience or strong interest in Model-Based Development (MBD) workflows (e.g., ANSYS Scade or MATLAB/Simulink) to drive system design.
  • Safety-Critical Awareness: An understanding of the rigor required for high-integrity environments (e.g., DO-178C or similar safety standards).
  • The Driver: A proactive approach to solving complex, "unsolved" problems in the field of autonomy and flight control.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal). German language skills are a plus.

Benefits

  • Attractive salary and special payments
  • 30 days paid vacation and extra days-off for special occasions
  • Excellent upskilling opportunities and great international, group wide development prospects
  • Special benefits: employer-funded pension, employee stock options, discounted car leasing, special conditions for insurances, subsidies for public transport, employee benefits at cooperating companies
  • On-site-facilities: Medical officer for check-ups and other health-related services, canteen and cafeteria, kindergarten close to the site
  • Compatibility of family & work (job sharing, part-time models, flexible working hours, individual timeout)
  • Working in a diverse environment, with more than 140 nationalities, where every voice is heard
