The Eurodrone Overall RPAS Technical Manager (d/f/m) leads and directs the overall planning and implementation of Eurodrone Phase 1C activities across all contributing organizations. This role ensures flight test readiness at test centres in Germany, Italy and Spain, manages the test fleet maintenance and updates, and acts as the technical customer interface. The manager coordinates test programs, resolves conflicts, and provides technical guidance to senior management, ensuring consistency between test and certification plans.

Responsibilities

  • Technically lead and direct the overall planning and implementation to ensure the readiness and conduction of Eurodrone Phase 1C activities across all contributing organizations - including top level planning of all maintenance and RPAS updates from an overall perspective:
  • Secure Flight Test Readiness of the involved test centres in Germany, Italy and Spain (e.g., training, logistics, airworthiness, operations, resources, processes).
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction on any aspects related to the maintenance, preparation and future support of the Eurodrone test fleet, associated activities (including potential FTI updates).
  • Lead the installation/maintenance of a strategic fleet program.
  • Support program teams to produce all technical documentations for future options.
  • Act as technical customer interface for GFx management and loan requests for the use of GFx assets.
  • Priories and steers equipment, GSTE and FTI spares distribution across Test Centres (Benches and RPAS prototypes), including repair management and availability of export licenses in coordination with equipment management, procurement and logistic teams.
  • Execute overall management of extant or potential Cross-Program conflicts
  • As the Eurodrone Engineering focal point, provide and take full responsibility for Major Asset Activity Reporting (RPAS, Benches and Equipment/Spares for BT, GT, FT, DTIS and IDTTs), supporting the program and customer reporting process (status and issues).
  • Lead lessons Learned, conflict resolution, and any other matter related to whole P1C activities, amongst others RPAS bench, ground or flight testing.
  • Contribute to Overall RPAS BT, GT and FT tasks allocation, considering all technical & program constraints and project directives, risks, dependencies and opportunities and underwrite the agreed output and act as escalation point of the Flight Test Management Group in case arbitration between test centers needed.
  • Ensure consistency between Test Program and Certification/Qualification Plans.
  • Lead adaptation of contract, if and when required.
  • Coordinates and chairs: BT, GT and FT Functional Reviews (e.g., IRR, TRR, VR, FFR, Co-TRR), integrated within the Eurodrone meetings cycle, providing Program and Customer Representatives full visibility of the status of each test program
  • Provide guidance, advice, recommendations or other appropriate responses to Eurodrone Chief Engineer and Program senior management on:
  • the status of the BT, GT and FT program
  • the status of the Eurodrone test fleet
  • issues relevant to maintaining the availability of the test fleet to support present and future Eurodrone contracts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in Flight Test Management of multinational programs, preferably in the multinational Test Center environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience aerospace test and verification, with a strong focus on RPAS/UAS or complex aircraft systems.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams in a demanding aerospace environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of flight test methodologies, data acquisition systems, and flight test instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace safety regulations, airworthiness requirements, and certification processes (e.g., EASA, MIL-STD) with national airworthiness authorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in German and fluency in English is required
  • Ability to travel as required for test campaigns and meetings.

Nice to have

  • Spanish or Italian is a plus.
