As a Senior System Safety Engineer on the Prime Air team, you will own the completion of safety analyses and derive design safety requirements across all systems. You will help define the future of safety assessment processes for drone aerial systems by coordinating with regulatory and technical standards organizations. You will lead cross-functional teams to integrate design safety directly into the system development process, working in a fast-paced, innovative environment to solve next-generation delivery challenges.
Responsibilities
- - Own the completion of safety analyses and derive design safety requirements across all systems at Prime Air
- - Help define the future of safety assessment processes and methodologies for drone aerial systems through coordination with regulatory and technical standards organizations across the world
- - Lead talented cross functional teams to integrate design safety directly into the system development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 5+ years experience in system safety engineering in the aerospace, automotive, or robotics industries
- Experience in analysis and design of safety critical systems
- Experience working with requirements management and safety analysis tools (CAFTA, Medini, or similar)
- Experience conveying complex subject matter to stakeholders, leadership, and regulators ### Preferred qualifications
Nice to have
- Proficient working with ARP-4761/4754, ISO26262, MIL-STD-882B, or similar system safety processes.
- Experience developing FHAs, Fault Trees, Reliability Predictions, FMEAs, SSAs, CCAs.
- Experience performing safety analyses in one or more of the following: Image based perception systems, aerospace systems, vehicle management, flight controls, cloud-based software intensive systems, aircraft traffic management
- 8+ years of professional complex systems development experience
- Knowledgeable in statistical analysis and reliability engineering fundamentals
- Proficient working with cross functional teams to drive analysis of complex systems
- Proficient in systems engineering fundamentals, including system decomposition, requirements verification & validation, and ICD definition

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
