Anduril is seeking a Lead Technician to join the Omen Team within Maneuver Dominance. The role involves overseeing and coordinating the technical fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical and avionics systems for the Omen autonomous air vehicle. The Lead Technician will lead daily activities of the technician team, support new product engineering during development and pre-production, and assist in transitioning product lines to full rate production. This position requires close collaboration with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of technician team to meet production targets. Help manage daily priorities, provide necessary process and design feedback, and train team where knowledge gaps are present.
  • Support new product engineering during development and pre-production phases of hardware life-cycles, including building pre-production, qualification, and production hardware.
  • Assist with transitioning product lines from engineering development to full rate production.
  • Provide detailed feedback to engineering team on process improvements, common issues, line layout, and work instructions.
  • Maintain engineering pilot line and tool storage
  • Follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and instructions to assemble products or systems
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures in the workplace
  • Possibility for overtime and weekend shifts as needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, electronics, or medical industry is preferred) performing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
  • Proficient with common hand tools and power tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment
  • Proficient with computer use (standard browser, word processing applications)
  • Able to read a wiring diagrams and follow assembly instructions
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production
  • Ability to effectively prioritize self and team member activities to achieve production goal
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

Nice to have

  • Lead or managed a team of technicians in the past
  • Demonstrated experience with many aspects of aircraft or ground systems fabrication, repair, assembly, and operation including structural fabrication, integration, composites fabrication, and avionics build/integration/test
  • Experience with common air-frame construction techniques such as rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, etc.
  • Prior hands-on experience with kit, model, or experimental aircraft builds
  • Running functional checkouts and tests, and diagnosing issues discovered during these processes
  • Troubleshooting ability with good first principles logic
  • Basic understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Assist with kitting products, as needed
  • Holds an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or has similar training
  • Forklift certification
