As a System Engineer for Electrical Integration on the Edge Compute and Communications team, you will lead the development of end-to-end solutions for unmanned aerial systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and system architecture. You will design, develop, and maintain system components that meet functional and performance requirements in complex environments, conduct thorough testing and debugging, and work closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration. Your role is crucial in supporting the product lifecycle from development through production and sustainment, contributing to Anduril's mission of transforming military capabilities with advanced technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead development for an end-to-end solution by collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements and system architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain system components that meet functional and performance requirements in complex system environments
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability, scalability, and resilience of software applications, especially within a distributed systems context
- Work closely with hardware engineers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
- Collaborate with the team to define and document software engineering processes and practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- A passion for systems design, development, integration, and testing
- 2-6 years of industry experience including but not limited to electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or systems engineering
- Comfort with systems modeling tools such as Cameo
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to operate effectively in an Agile development environment
- Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and build experience of complex robotic systems
- Experience developing automated test scripts and frameworks using a common language (eg, Python, MATLAB, etc)
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented, and excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% as needed for test planning and execution, and excitement to work onsite at our headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA the rest of the time!
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, and building complex robotic systems
- Familiarity with IP- based networks
- Experience with mission systems to include communications systems and components
- Familiarity with aviation airworthiness considerations
- Already hold a U.S. Secret security clearance, or higher
