The Radar System Engineer will provide engineering support for a government customer in Huntsville, AL, focusing on evaluating the detection, tracking, classification, and defeat capabilities of current and future Army Counter-Unmanned Aerial Radar Systems (C-UAS). The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and OEMs to integrate radar systems into the existing System of Systems architecture, performing rapid data analysis during system testing at DoD and OEM test ranges, and coordinating with team members and government customers to execute studies and present findings. Frequent travel to contractor and test sites is required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the detection, tracking, classification and defeat capabilities of current and future Army Counter-Unmanned Aerial Radar Systems (C-UAS)
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and OEMs to integrate radar systems into the existing System of Systems (SoS) architecture
  • Perform rapid data analysis in support of system testing at DoD and OEM test ranges
  • Coordinate with team members and U.S. government customers to execute studies, analyze the results, and prepare and present study findings

Requirements

  • Must currently possess an active and transferable DoD security clearance or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required. Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Frequent travel, up to 25%, to contractor and test sites is required
  • Ability to develop custom analysis tools for data analysis and data management (experience with development in Python preferred)
  • Knowledge of radar systems is desired, but not required
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and government customers
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, processes, programming languages
  • Work is onsite at the Astrion office
