The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for testing and assembling Counter UAS (C-UAS) systems and products in the manufacturing facility, following engineering drawings and assembly instructions. The role involves constructing mechanical and electrical assemblies, final assembly using heavy equipment, testing and troubleshooting, wiring and soldering, and light machining. The technician collaborates with production technicians and engineers to improve documentation and designs, and may train other technicians.
Responsibilities
- Primary duty is the construction of mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand and precision tools
- Final assembly of systems with the use of heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts
- Testing and troubleshooting of sub-assemblies and final assemblies
- Electrical wiring fabrication / soldering of components and wiring
- Light machining and fabrication of metal and composite parts
- Working with other production technicians and engineering to correct and improve upon any documentation, electrical and mechanical designs.
- Working with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs and validate released assembly/ fabrication documentation
- Responsible for ensuring that work tracking paperwork is completed as the work is performed
- May also train other technicians in build and testing process
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment or R&D fabrication lab
- Previous work within ESD, FOD and cleanroom environments
- Experience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is required
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Must have good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees in the Company
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Nice to have
- Vocational training in a manufacturing trade is preferred
- J-STD-001 class II or higher solder experience.
- Work with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalized
- Complete assigned tasks under minimal supervision and show problem solving skills
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals shared by the team
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
