This is a fixed-term maternity cover role within the Programmes team at Callen-Lenz, a company specialising in crewed and uncrewed aircraft operations and technology. You will support projects from bid and requirements capture through to delivery and close-out, monitoring programme performance and managing off-track items. The role involves coordinating internal resources and third parties, developing project plans, managing scope and budget, and integrating functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time within scope and budget and required quality levels.
- Developing project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop detailed project plans and track/monitor/report progress.
- Responsible to coordinate commercial and technical issues and requirements with the customer.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Responsible to integrate functional teams to align execution including design and manufacturing, operations, procurement etc.
- Actively execute Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management to control and mitigate the risk exposure and take advantage of opportunities.
- Responsible for undertaking any other activity required to ensure successful delivery of the program.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Provide bid/proposal support/leadership as required.
- Contribute to the improvement of company/project processes/procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Formal PM qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, Prince 2, Agile PM Practitioner).
- Educated to first degree level in a numerate discipline. A STEM qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in Project Management with a successful track record in setting up and executing complex projects to agreed schedule, budget and quality.
- Ability to coordinate internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects.
- To be competent in the use of Microsoft Project and have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
- Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel.
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
- A full valid UK driving license.
- Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
Nice to have
- Practical experience of delivery using both Waterfall and Agile PM methodologies is highly desirable.
- Experience within aerospace, defence or security contracts is highly desirable.
- Experience with delivering project(s) in a Product Development environment would be an advantage.
- Experience with delivering project(s) in a ramp-up to, and including, rate production would also be an advantage.
- Understanding of Government grant framework projects and operation is an advantage.
- Experience managing flight trials within UK and overseas is desirable.
