Communication Advisor Air Power - Drones and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (d/f/m)

You will join an international team of communication professionals responsible for the corporate communication activities of the AD Business Lines.

Your mission will be to lead the elaboration and execution of the communications strategies and plans for various topics in the field of Defence and Air Power, especially related to Drones and UAS.

The team is responsible for defining the communications priorities and for the development and project management of relevant communication plans together with all necessary stakeholders.

The position provides an interesting span of different roles and activities.

From building a communications strategy and plan, via project management, to actively executing tasks and constantly monitoring and measuring the performance of the defined communication activities. The position holder acts as a communication advisor in Air Power and is reporting to the Head of Communication Advisors and Strategy.

Additionally the position holder will drive the strategic communication and positioning (20-30% of time) of Airbus Defence and Space in key growth markets, including Romania, Poland, Scandinavia, and the Baltics, working closely with local teams.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Developing a complete communications plan, defining communication priorities and project managing the execution for Eurodrone, Kratos, Low-cost Air Defence, German Heron TP, Aliaca as well as handling communication topics regarding upcoming M&As and JVs in the field of Drones and UAS.
Act as the interface to Airbus Helicopters on joint Drones and UAS topics and initiatives.
Act as Communications Advisor to the business in terms of appropriate messaging to the Broader Public.
Define key messages in line with business and be responsible for the end-to-end communication process related to Drones and UAS topics.
Monitoring and measuring the performance and impact according to predefined targets of the respective communications project or topic
assessing the communication impact via KPI analysis, providing key recommendations accordingly, to ensure continuously improved communications
Interacting, coordinating and drum beating all related communication activities in a team mindset with the channel owners (internal and external) and content team (audiovisual, editorial) as well as Public Affairs and Marketing and Sales to together identify the most appropriate channels and platforms for telling your story.

Desired skills and qualifications

Master degree in communication, political science or in a related field
Holistic and transversal thinking and acting communications professional
Experience in security and foreign policy topics related to the Defence industry
Experience in the frame of Air Power or Defence Technology, Drones and UAS and social media channels, with a focus on collaborative and collective ways of working
Knowledge in Project Management
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Fluent in German and English - speaking and writing
Extensive experience in different areas of communication (branding, media relations, content creation, digital media, communication strategy and planning)
Creative and innovative mindset, with strong storytelling, writing and editorial skills
Ability to interface with the different management levels, including the top management, and to work in a very dynamic and fast paced environment
