As a System QA Engineer at D-Fend Solutions, you will ensure the operational stability and resilience of the D-Fend Applications Ecosystem, including National C2, MSC2, and Edge C2 platforms. You will rigorously test the integration seams of these distributed systems, execute and automate comprehensive test plans, and champion a 'Shift-Left' quality approach to prevent defects during design and planning. Your work will involve validating data flows, simulating network failures, and providing precise root-cause analysis to developers.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in Product Requirements(PRD), High-Level (HLD) reviews to enforce system testability before code is written.
- Execute and automate comprehensive test plans across Edge C2 nodes, MSC2 instances, and National C2 cloud environments.
- Validate complex data flows and state synchronization across geographically distributed components.
- Simulate degraded network conditions, forced disconnects, and VPN tunnel collapses to validate system recovery and data integrity.
- Isolate integration breakdowns between Web Applications and backend microservices.
- Analyze complex system logs using modern observability tools to provide developers with exact root-cause indicators and precise reproduction steps.
- Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous validation.
- Maintain clear, artifact-based documentation of test coverage, system behavior, and defect tracking.
Requirements
- BA/B.Sc. from a leading university.
- 5+ years of experience in QA, System QA, or Integration QA for complex distributed systems.
- Required Certifications: Must hold recognized industry certifications proving baseline competence, including an active ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or equivalent) AND at least one recognized Networking or Security certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+).
- Test Automation: Hands-on experience maintaining, and scaling automated test suites (Python heavily preferred, Pytest, or similar frameworks).
- Multi-Component Testing: Practical experience testing distributed systems and API- driven architectures.
- Core Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, port routing, VPNs, secure tunnels, and client-server models.
- Infrastructure & Observability: Strong Linux proficiency. Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and log aggregation/telemetry tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog).
- Protocol Knowledge: Practical understanding of REST APIs and WebSocket communication.
- Cross-Stack Validation: Experience testing modern Web applications and backend services simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience working with SDR (Software Defined Radio) or RF-based systems.
- Background in cybersecurity, secure communication protocols, or encrypted networks.
- Experience with Non-Functional Testing (Performance, Load, Stress) using tools like JMeter or Locust.
- SQL experience, specifically with analytical or time-series databases.
- Military defense-system, intelligence sector, or field-deployment background.
- Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and scaling automated test suites.
