Field Support Technician

The Field Support Technician travels to customer homes to survey roofs and gather electrical information for solar design. The role involves using drones and manual methods to collect data, creating rooftop maps, and building rapport with customers. The technician conducts physical site audits, uploads documents, and identifies potential installation issues.

Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites to obtain the necessary information, including electrical data, to complete technical design documents for a solar system
• Create detailed rooftop map layout for solar arrays, including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents, etc.)
• Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather facilities assessment data as needed
• Conduct a physical site audit using a drone, auditing tools, including a tablet/phone with apps, measuring devices, and other related equipment
• Upload site audit documents and photos to a cloud server
• Maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle
• Identifies issues on homes that may interfere with our installations
• Interacting with homeowners if questions arise

Requirements

• Must have an active and valid driver’s license
• Ability to work on the roof in a physically demanding role
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity

Nice to have

• Bilingual Spanish and English speaking preferred
