The Configuration Analyst, Autonomous Systems is responsible for maintaining configuration data for unmanned aircraft systems, ensuring that hardware, software, and documentation remain aligned with approved baselines. This role processes engineering changes, manages bills of materials, and supports configuration status accounting and audits. The analyst works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure traceability and controlled change throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Maintain configuration records for hardware, software, firmware, and documentation.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in accordance with established CM procedures.
- Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, revisions, and effectivity.
- Ensure accurate release, version control, and status tracking of drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Update and maintain configuration data in PDM, MRP and other related enterprise systems.
- Support configuration status accounting and reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing configuration evidence and traceability.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure released configurations are build-ready and production-aligned.
- Track configuration deviations and assist in documenting approved variances.
Requirements
- Experience maintaining configuration data in a regulated or production-oriented environment.
- 1 – 4 years of experience in working knowledge of engineering change processes and document control practices.
- Familiarity with BOM management and revision control.
- Experience using PLM/PDM systems and structured data repositories.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and follow defined processes.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, UAS, defense, robotics, or complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with prototype-to-production transitions.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or fielded systems.
- Exposure to ERP/MRP integrations.
- Understanding of basic configuration management principles (identification, control, status accounting)..
