As an Electrical Engineer in Harmattan AI's new GCS (Ground Control System) module, you will lead the design, prototyping, and integration of the electronics that power our custom-built remote controllers for UAVs. You'll play a critical role in shaping the architecture of a rugged, high-performance, mission-ready system.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype PCBs for handheld control stations, ensuring high reliability, low latency, and efficient power management.
- Integrate a wide range of components (displays, joysticks, communication modules, antennas, batteries) into a robust and compact design.
- Define system-level electrical architecture including wiring, interconnects, and shielding for electromagnetic compatibility.
- Collaborate with mechanical and embedded software engineers to ensure seamless integration across the hardware stack.
- Select and manage suppliers for key electrical components and oversee board fabrication and assembly.
- Conduct extensive testing, including thermal, EMI/EMC, and field validation, ensuring operational performance in harsh environments.
- Document designs and iterate quickly from prototyping to production-ready systems.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing embedded systems, ideally for handheld or ruggedized equipment.
- Strong PCB design experience (Altium or equivalent), including high-speed digital and analog circuits.
- Knowledge of RF integration, EMI shielding, and power systems (batteries, charging, power regulation).
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical challenges.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of leading diverse principals – from junior members to senior executives.
