ICR is seeking a Systems/I&T Engineer to support a complex, mission-relevant Counter-UAS system. The role focuses heavily on hardware, system integration, and big-picture understanding across RF, IT, mechanical, and DSP elements. The engineer will help ensure continuous system availability while also driving future capability enhancements to maintain effectiveness against emerging threats. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with the customer, navigating limited or incomplete customer inputs, and independently identifying evolving threat vectors through external research and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary customer interface for requirements discovery, design reviews, training events, and system support activities.
  • Ensure system availability through effective planning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination across multidisciplinary internal teams (IT, RF engineering, DSP, software, signals analysis, electrical engineering, manufacturing, procurement).
  • Develop and refine a roadmap for improving system performance, reliability, and responsiveness to evolving Counter‑UAS threats within constrained budgets.
  • Proactively identify new threat trends through outside sources, open community engagement, research, and collaboration with the broader Counter‑UAS ecosystem.
  • Maintain accurate and current system documentation, including system diagrams, test procedures, bills of material, and installation manuals.
  • Perform RF path analysis and conduct basic RF measurements to verify system performance.
  • Work directly with hardware including antennas, RF front‑end filters/amplifiers, antenna positioners, HVAC systems, enterprise servers, UPS systems, network switches/routers/firewalls, and software‑defined radios.
  • Use Linux command-line tools to perform diagnostics, gather/analyze logs, and reconfigure system components.
  • Support a diverse DSP software ecosystem involving bare-metal applications, web services, Docker containers, enterprise messaging protocols, and GOTS DSP tools.
  • Provide occasional overnight support to customer field teams.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Top Secret security clearance with SCI access.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Nice to have

  • Experience with software-defined radios in signals intelligence contexts.
  • Familiarity with enterprise server hardware, networking equipment, and IP communications.
  • Understanding of Counter‑UAS signals analysis.
  • Knowledge of M2Extra and/or X-Midas.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to understand complex systems at both the architectural level and detailed subsystem level.
  • Comfortable researching new technologies, threats, and techniques with minimal initial guidance.

Benefits

  • This position offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes company equity, retirement plan, company-paid health care benefits, flexible paid time off policy, and opportunity for a raise and bonus during the year.
