The UAS Interoperability Technician performs integration, testing and certification of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Command Control Computers Communications and Intelligence (C4I) technologies in simulated environments. Working within a test team of UAS Operators, Technicians and Engineers, the role involves conducting Risk Reduction Testing and Army Interoperability Certification testing, developing solutions to complex interoperability problems, and supporting the system's development lifecycle. The technician interfaces with customers to establish testing practices and meet delivery needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) based on system capability requirements developed and established by the customer.
  • Perform Army Interoperability Certification (AIC) testing of candidate system software and hardware.
  • Conduct thorough testing based on established procedures and standards and support development of procedures derived from current and future system requirements documentation.
  • Develop solutions to complex interoperability problems during all phases of testing.
  • Work closely with the JSIL leadership to provide support during the system’s development lifecycle.
  • Interface with the customer to help establish testing practices and meet their software and hardware delivery needs.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) plus 2-4 years of experience or Masters degree with less than 2 years in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). In lieu of a degree 9+ years of UAS equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Familiarity with UAS flight and mission operations.
  • UAS C4I Technologies (tactical messaging, payload product dissemination).
  • UAS simulation software and hardware technologies
  • UAS integration and testing.
  • Test procedure development.
  • Must be a U.S. citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
  • On-site work (no remote/hybrid options) with ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security+ Certification.

Nice to have

  • Operational UAS experience (operator or maintainer/technician).
  • UAS data communications (Tactical Common Datalink, Blue Force Tracker, Link-16, emerging UAS communication technology).
  • Familiarity with C4I software and interfaces to include tactical messaging interfaces as defined by DoDAF and AIC mission test threads.
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers and working in dynamic environments require expertise on a variety of existing and emerging UAS systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as participate in group projects/test events.
  • Hands-on experience in technical disciplines including payloads, data links, and/or command and control.
