This Senior Test & Integration Engineer role focuses on owning electrical interconnect systems across UAV platforms. You will design, build, and validate wiring harnesses for demanding environments, working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and test teams. The role involves hands-on integration, validation, and troubleshooting, as well as transitioning designs from prototype to production. You will also contribute to test infrastructure and drive root-cause analysis of failures.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design of UAV wiring harnesses: concept → prototype → production.
  • Design for power, high-speed signals, RF, and mixed-signal systems under tight size, weight, and power constraints
  • Rapidly iterate on harness layouts, routing, and packaging with mechanical and electrical teams
  • Full harness design including connectors, shielding strategies, wire types, and protection
  • schemes for harsh environments (vibration, temperature, EMI)
  • Drive design decisions with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and field serviceability
  • Lead bring-up and integration of harnesses into full vehicle systems
  • Define and execute validation: continuity, insulation resistance, shielding effectiveness, and system-level functional checks.
  • Identify and fix issues quickly during integration and flight test cycles
  • Work directly with technicians and vendors to transition harnesses from prototype to production
  • Define build processes, QA checks, and acceptance criteria
  • Troubleshoot production issues (opens/shorts, intermittent faults, connector failures, shielding gaps)
  • Continuously improve harness designs based on production and field feedback
  • Own root-cause analysis of electrical interconnect failures in lab, production, and field
  • Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, hipot testers, and other tools to diagnose complex issues
  • Drive corrective actions quickly and prevent recurrence
  • Create and maintain harness drawings, pinouts, and build docs
  • Keep documentation lightweight, accurate, and usable by technicians
  • Maintain revision control without slowing down development speed

Requirements

  • ● 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building wiring harnesses or electrical
  • interconnect systems
  • ● Deep understanding of connectors, shielding, grounding, and cable design for real-world
  • environments
  • ● Strong ability to read and create schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness documentation.
  • ● Proven experience taking hardware from prototype through production
  • ● Comfortable working with standard electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes,
  • continuity/hipot testers)
  • ● Demonstrated ability to move fast, iterate quickly, and solve problems with minimal direction

Nice to have

  • Experience with UAVs, aerospace systems, robotics, or other high-performance hardware
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and high-reliability design
  • Experience with harness CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA, Zuken, Altium, etc.)
  • Background in designing or supporting test fixtures, breakout systems, or test racks
  • Hands-on experience working with contract manufacturers or in-house production teams

Benefits

  • The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package. Mach offers benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development.
