2027 Intern Vehicle Engineering - CA OK ND

This is a summer internship position within Northrop Grumman's Vehicle Engineering group, where the intern will work on developing manned and unmanned aircraft platforms. The intern will participate in a structured program to build competencies in various engineering specializations, including constructing, troubleshooting, testing equipment, and analyzing structural engineering packages. The role involves interacting with users, customers, and other developers in a dynamic, people-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Analyze, research, and develop structural engineering analysis packages involving metals or composite structural materials for product design or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics.

Requirements

• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027.
• Be majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, Applied Mechanics, Materials/Composites or related STEM field.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
• Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

• Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $17.50 to $39.00 per hour
• Master’s: $24.75 to $48.00 per hour
• Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
