Job Summary

The Production Test Technician will perform standardized electrical and functional testing on unmanned aircraft system (UAS) subassemblies in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Testing will include polarity and continuity verification, controlled power-up, communication with electronic speed controllers, and verification of motor identification, rotation, direction, and response. This is a production test position and does not involve flight testing. This is a full-time contract position expected to last approximately 2–3 months, with potential conversion to full-time employment based on performance and business needs.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Review production travelers and verify that required assembly and inspection operations are complete.
  • Perform pre-power polarity, continuity, resistance, and short-circuit checks.
  • Connect assemblies to current-limited power supplies and approved test equipment.
  • Establish direct communication with electronic speed controllers using the approved test interface.
  • Command and verify individual motor operation.
  • Confirm correct motor number, response, rotation direction, and basic operating condition.
  • Observe assemblies for abnormal current draw, noise, vibration, heating, or intermittent operation.
  • Record test results accurately in the applicable production system or traveler.
  • Apply required acceptance labels or status identification.
  • Segregate failed units and provide clear failure descriptions for troubleshooting or rework.
  • Assist with basic fault isolation using approved procedures.
  • Maintain test equipment, cables, fixtures, and workstations in an organized condition.
  • Follow electrical safety, ESD-control, and controlled power-up procedures.
  • Support production-rate improvement, test-fixture development, and cross-training as required.
