MECHANICAL ENGINEER (f/m/d)

Als Mechanical Engineer bei Omnisent entwirfst und entwickelst du die mechanischen Systeme für die Sensoren, Interzeptoren und Gehäuse von OmniDome – vom Konzept bis zur einsatzbereiten Hardware. Du erstellst CAD-Modelle, wählst Materialien und Fertigungsverfahren aus und arbeitest eng mit Elektronik-, HF- und Flugtestingenieuren zusammen, um die mechanischen Designs in die Gesamtsysteme zu integrieren. Die Rolle umfasst Prototyping, Tests und Iterationen basierend auf Flugtest- und Feldeinsatz-Feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical structures and enclosures for sensors, interceptors, and other hardware components
• Develop and iterate on CAD models and technical drawings for new and existing hardware
• Select materials and manufacturing processes suited for field-deployed, weather-resistant hardware
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), working closely with production and procurement
• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration based on flight test and field deployment feedback
• Collaborate closely with electronics, RF, and flight test engineers to integrate mechanical designs into full systems

Requirements

• Strong background in mechanical design and CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape)
• Experience designing for manufacturability and for rugged, field-deployable hardware
• Understanding of materials selection for outdoor and weatherproof applications
• Comfortable working across the full hardware lifecycle, from concept to production
• EU work authorization

Nice to have

• Experience with drone, robotics, or aerospace mechanical design
• Experience with environmental hardening (IP-rating, MIL-STD-810, etc.)
• Background in defense or other high-reliability hardware industries
