Department Overview
PG&E Aviation Services supports safe, compliant, and reliable aviation operations across the company’s service territory using unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and other aerial resources. The department works with internal teams to provide aerial inspection, mapping, data collection, emergency response, and operational support. Within Aviation Services, the UAS team supports drone operations, maintains required documentation, assists with regulatory compliance, and helps implement established safety procedures and technologies to meet business needs.
Position Summary
The Program Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of UAS programs and projects in accordance with FAA regulations and Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. This role works with the UAS team and internal partners to support safe and efficient operations, maintain program documentation, track schedules and performance, coordinate resources, and assist with operational improvements. The position may also support emergency response activities, vendor coordination, technology evaluations, and communication with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Mid: $106,000
Bay Area Max: $127,000
Job Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of UAS inspection projects for electric transmission, distribution, and substation assets.
- Work with electric operations, asset management, inspection, and maintenance teams to identify UAS work needs, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term forecasts of UAS inspection volume, geographic demand, resource needs, and expected completion dates.
- Coordinate project schedules, field access, airspace requirements, staffing, equipment, and vendor support to help ensure work is completed safely and on time.
- Track project scope, milestones, costs, risks, dependencies, and performance, and communicate status updates to the UAS team and internal partners.
- Review work requests and available asset information to support project scoping, prioritization, routing, and resource planning.
- Maintain project plans, forecasts, dashboards, schedules, and other documentation used to monitor UAS work on electric assets.
- Coordinate the delivery of UAS imagery, inspection data, and related work products to internal stakeholders in accordance with established requirements.
- Identify schedule, resource, data, or operational issues and work with appropriate teams to support resolution and minimize impacts to planned work.
- Support storm, emergency, and other time-sensitive UAS assignments involving electric assets, as needed.
- Perform work in accordance with FAA requirements, Aviation Safety Management System procedures, company standards, and established UAS operating practices.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years job-related experience
Desired:
- FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations 14 CFR (61,91,107)
- Knowledge of 49 CFR 192, CPUC GO 112,165
