As a Product Regulatory Manager, you will act as the organization's subject matter expert for product compliance, product safety, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. You will ensure that products are developed, certified, and maintained in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, environmental, and defence sector requirements throughout the product lifecycle. You will own and improve compliance processes, interpret regulations, and support stakeholders with practical compliance expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve product compliance and product safety processes across the defence product portfolio.
  • Interpret and apply applicable legislation, regulations, directives, standards, and certification frameworks relevant to defence and technology products.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and standards, assess their impact on products and roadmaps, and guide the organization in preparing for future compliance obligations
  • Ensure that safety, environmental, EMC, materials, cybersecurity, export control, and other regulatory requirements are incorporated into product development and life- cycle management.
  • Manage and maintain compliance documentation, declarations, technical files, certification evidence, risk assessments, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support product development, operations, quality, procurement, and other stakeholders with practical compliance expertise and guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety culture, regulatory readiness, audit preparedness, and defence product compliance practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience in product compliance, product safety, certification, systems engineering, quality, or regulatory work in a demanding technical environment.
  • Good understanding of product safety, CE marking, EMC, electrical safety, machinery safety, functional safety, environmental and material compliance obligations such as REACH and RoHS, and applicable quality management practices.
  • Ability to interpret standards, customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and contractual requirements and translate them into practical product development and lifecycle actions.
  • Experience in compliance and safety process development, risk management, technical documentation, audits, and certification evidence management.
  • Ability to cooperate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain regulatory requirements and their business impact to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to balance regulatory obligations, product objectives, and business priorities in a pragmatic and risk-based manner
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to share knowledge, build common practices, and strengthen compliance competence across the organization.
