Pyka busca un ingeniero de soporte de vuelo con base en Brasil para apoyar el desarrollo y despliegues comerciales de sus aeronaves autónomas. Supervisará la flota desplegada y apoyará a operadores internos y clientes durante las operaciones comerciales, con hasta un 50% del tiempo en sitios de clientes. El rol requiere trabajar en turno nocturno de 9pm a 5am BRT y participar en rotaciones de soporte técnico. Será clave para estandarizar operaciones de vuelo y procedimientos, e informar la evolución del producto.
Responsibilities
- Travel to and participate in commercial deployments (Brazil) to support flight testing, customer success and product support
- Serve as Pilot In Command or Ground Control Operator of experimental / developmental unmanned aircraft
- Lead and/or participate in ground and flight test events as Test Conductor or Test Crew member
- Guarantee continuous operations at customer sites by identifying, troubleshooting and fixing any arising issues, both in person and as remote support, with the remote help of Pyka’s engineering teams
- Participate in customer technical support on-call rotations during the night shift, from 9pm to 5am BRT
- Recommend new features, improvements, design changes, etc. to the design team
- Triage any software and hardware bugs and raise most important issues to the relevant engineering teams
- Manage complex logistics in support of flight operations
- Interact regularly with internal operators and customers to ensure customer success
Requirements
- An engineering degree is not required, although the candidate must be technically knowledgeable, preferably with experience with flight operations with either manned aircraft or UAVs.
Nice to have
- Experience flying fixed wing UAVs / model aircraft or large multirotors
- Experience with ground control and mission planning software
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, assembly, and troubleshooting
- Basic high voltage safety knowledge and comfortable working on 120 VDC, 20 ~ 30 kW systems
- Familiarity with linux, command line usage, git, Python and C++
- Proficient in Portuguese, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience visualizing and analyzing data logs
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and manuals
- Experience interacting with customers in high-pressure operations
- Independent and motivated, with an extremely strong work ethic; able to self-direct and manage time
- Extreme attention to detail and thoroughness
- Willingness to travel around the country and spend several weeks working independently
