QinetiQ US is seeking a Sr. Director of Profit & Loss (P&L) to lead and grow its Counter Threat Portfolio, with full P&L responsibility for a diverse portfolio of programs supporting the U.S. Government. This executive will drive operational excellence, strategic growth, and financial performance, balancing mature sustainment contracts, research initiatives, and emerging technology delivery. The role involves hands-on program execution, customer engagement, business development, and capture strategy, leading multidisciplinary teams and building executive-level relationships with key customers.
Responsibilities
- Own full P&L responsibility for the Counter Threat portfolio, including revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance.
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan that expands QinetiQ US’s position within the counter-threat market.
- Lead a portfolio of programs focused on counter-UAS, force protection, border security, ISR, and other counter-threat mission areas.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customers across the U.S. Army, DHS, CENTCOM, and related allied governments and international defense organizations.
- Partner with Business Development and Capture teams to identify, qualify, and win new opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships.
- Oversee program execution to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, technical performance, schedule adherence, and financial results.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across program management, engineering, operations, contracts, finance, and business development.
- Ensure compliance with all government contracting regulations, security requirements, and company policies.
- Drive organizational excellence through talent development, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Represent QinetiQ US at customer engagements, industry conferences, and strategic partner meetings.
Requirements
- (Must Be Able to Obtain and/or Currently Possess): TS/SCI Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Military Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing defense and/or homeland security portfolios.
- Demonstrated success managing a $50M+ government services or technology portfolio with direct P&L accountability.
- Experience supporting the U.S. Army, U.S Central Command (CENTCOM), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
- Proven track record growing business through successful capture and execution of large federal contracts.
- Strong understanding of counter-threat mission areas, including: Counter - UAS, Cunter - IED, Force Protection, Border Security, ISR, Integrated Sensor Systems.
- Demonstrated executive leadership in complex government contracting environments.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and multiple program managers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
- Travel 40-50% if not local

- Existing relationships with Capability Program Executives (CPEs), Army Futures Command, Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), DHS components (CBP, USCG), USSOCOM, USAF Security Forces Center/AFLCMC, Army Research Laboratory (ARL), and the Joint Staff.
- Experience integrating emerging technologies including AI-enabled sensing, autonomous systems, robotics, electronic warfare, and advanced analytics into operational solutions.
- Demonstrated success leading organizations through rapid growth or portfolio transformation.
Benefits
- The salary range for this role is $225,000 - $275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
