As a Flight Operations Engineer, you will be a key part of the Flight Operations Team, supporting the local manufacturing and operational deployment of advanced drone systems in Romania. You will work closely with stakeholders from Flight Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Success teams to support testing, validation, deployment, and operational readiness of Quantum Systems' UAV platforms. Your mission is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations while contributing to continuous improvement and supporting customer missions across Europe and Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and support UAV flight test activities and operational demonstrations.
  • Prepare aircraft, payloads, and ground control systems for flight operations.
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Analyze flight data and support performance evaluations of aircraft and mission systems.
  • Document test results, flight reports, and operational findings.
  • Support validation and verification activities for new hardware, software, and system releases.
  • Investigate flight anomalies and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Support customer training, acceptance testing, and operational field activities when required.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of flight procedures, operational manuals, and safety processes.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation, safety, and company regulations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of operational readiness and flight test efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience in UAV operations, flight testing, aerospace engineering, or aviation-related environments.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems, flight operations, and mission planning.
  • Experience working with UAV ground control stations and mission management software.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and prepare clear operational reports.
  • Familiarity with flight test methodologies and troubleshooting processes.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and risk management in operational environments.
  • Hands-on technical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and support field operations when required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Romanian language

Nice to have

  • Drone pilot certifications or aviation-related qualifications are considered a plus.
