The Senior Manager, Flight Operations will lead and coordinate Flight Ops activities, ensuring the safe and efficient inspection and demonstration of Redwire's UAV products. This role involves developing the Flight Operations strategy, coordinating flights and customer training, providing customer support, and leading the Flight Ops team. The manager will also ensure compliance with standards, manage flight equipment, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the Flight Operations strategy, work planning, and execution.
  • Coordinate flights, flight tests, demonstrations, international business trips, and customer training.
  • Provide customer support, including communication, technical assistance, and incident analysis.
  • Lead and develop the Flight Ops team, including workload planning, objective setting, mentoring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, quality standards, KPIs, schedules, and occupational health & safety requirements.
  • Manage the availability, maintenance, and technical condition of flight equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate operational, safety, financial, and equipment-related risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimization within Flight Operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Sales, R&D, and other departments.
  • Contribute to R&D and product development, representing Flight Operations requirements and practical experience.
  • Improve operational efficiency, flight-hour performance, product capabilities, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the development and implementation of company policies, compliance programs, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the UAS industry or military sector.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of flight operations, customer support, and training.
  • Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative and effective solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and people management skills.
  • High level of responsibility and attention to detail.
  • Fluent Latvian and excellent command of English.
