This role leads the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems, while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position is within the ISR, Aviation, and Security business area, supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and maintenance of avionics equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex avionics issues.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of avionics systems.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately.
- Ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and company standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Advanced knowledge of avionics systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
- Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
Nice to have
- Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
- Expert soldering skills and use of advanced diagnostic tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

- Estimated Starting Salary Range: $33.38 - $45.90. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
