As an Electrical Engineer II, you will design, develop, and test electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will be responsible for designing and integrating electrical/electronic systems, validating them, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You will also participate in design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance within the ISR, Aviation, and Security business area.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical/electronic systems.
- In some applications, develop circuit card assemblies.
- Implement electrical wiring design practices.
- Conduct testing and validation of electronic systems and components.
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits.
- Develop and document technical designs, test plans, and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are met.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
- Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.
- Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
- Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements.
- Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts.
- Understanding of an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
- Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.
- Understanding Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
- Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
- Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.
