The Counter Unmanned Systems Analyst will support risk management and acquisition decision-making to counter emerging threats to critical infrastructure, particularly uncrewed threats. Responsibilities include planning and participating in CUAS test events, directing UAS pilots, collecting data, and developing reports on system performance. The analyst will directly support the government CUXS Program Manager by developing briefing materials and coordinating stakeholder meetings, and will attend technology demonstrations to inform acquisition decisions. The role involves using knowledge of military organizations and operational responsibilities to assist clients in defining and evaluating critical national security issues, and recommending courses of action for senior decision makers.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and participates in CUAS test events including directing UAS pilots to conduct specific missions, collection of data, and development of reports that decibedecibe performance of the system being tested.
  • Directly supports the government CUXS Program Manager by developing briefing materials and coordinating meetings with stakeholders.
  • Attends CUXS technology demonstrations and reports observations to inform acquisition decisions.
  • Uses knowledge of military organizations (i.e., roles, missions, and structure), operational responsibilities (i.e., doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, personnel, facilities and policy), and methods for employing assets of the national security establishment at the strategic, operational or tactical levels to assist clients with defining, understanding, and evaluating critical national security issues.
  • Recommends courses of action for senior decision makers based upon their evaluation.
  • Plans and participates in CUAS test events including directing UAS pilots to conduct specific missions, collection of data, and development of reports that decibedecibe performance of the system being tested.
  • Assists with identifying, developing and evaluating measures of effectiveness and risk-based assessments.
  • Assists with developing scenarios, concepts of operations, or concepts of employment for U.S., friendly, and opposition forces to support campaign or tactical modeling, wargaming, or analysis.
  • Plans and participates in CUAS test events including directing UAS pilots to conduct specific missions, collection of data, and development of reports that decibedecibe performance of the system being tested.
  • Directly supports the government CUXS Program Manager by developing briefing materials and coordinating meetings with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ability to work at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA, up to full-time as needed.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in DOD.
  • Experience working with UXS and/or CUXS systems.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proven ability to conduct robust technical analysis informed by expert knowledge to develop creative solutions to physical security challenges.
  • Ability to work at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA, up to full-time as needed.

  • 5+ years of experience in DOD.
  • Experience working with UXS and/or CUXS systems.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
