Salary: $100,000 - $145,000 Annually + $30,000 Guaranteed Minimum Annual Bonus

Role Overview

The Reality Capture Manager leads the enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies that change how project teams see, measure, and understand every jobsite. The role owns the complete data lifecycle, from field capture planning through processing and delivering actionable insights that drive smarter decisions across all phases of construction, and mentors a team of Reality Capture Associates.

This is a hands-on, field-heavy leadership role, with 50 to 75% of time spent on active job sites across Northern Virginia and the company's regional offices nationwide. The ideal candidate brings a BIM/VDC, construction surveying, or geospatial background, a solid understanding of how general contractor projects run from drawings to completion, and the curiosity to shape where reality capture is headed over the next 2 to 5 years.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies across all phases of construction.
  • Own the full data lifecycle, from field capture planning through processing and delivering actionable insights to project teams.
  • Create and implement enterprise-wide SOPs for reality capture.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 Reality Capture Associates in laser scanning, data processing, and emerging workflows.
  • Provide training and technical support on reality capture technologies to broader project teams.
  • Establish QC protocols that ensure accuracy of captured data on every project.
  • Perform field capture on active job sites and process scan data into usable deliverables for project teams.
  • Manage and evolve the toolkit, including NavVis, FARO, Leica Cyclone, DroneDeploy, OpenSpace, and ReCap Pro.
  • Evaluate emerging technology such as AI-powered point cloud analysis, new scanner platforms, and autonomous capture, and build business cases for adoption.
  • Work with BIM Coordination teams to ensure captured site conditions align with models.
  • Partner with Operations to identify opportunities for reality capture on projects; manage equipment inventory and vendor relationships.
  • Present reality capture value propositions that win new work and strengthen client relationships.

Required Background

  • 5+ years in BIM/VDC, surveying, or geospatial data management roles
  • Working knowledge of the construction industry, ideally with a general contractor, including coordination with MEP and other trades from drawings through completion
  • Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, and LiDAR, with a strong understanding of surveying principles and coordinate systems
  • Ability to operate laser scanner hardware, including FARO, NavVis, and Leica
  • Experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, NavVis, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools
  • Genuine curiosity about emerging technologies and a habit of staying current with industry trends
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel 50 to 75% to active job sites, navigate uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders, and lift equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Team leadership, drone operations with FAA Part 107, digital twin, Nvidia Omniverse, or Gaussian Splatting experience is a plus
