The Edge Data Processing and Software Engineer will work on a variety of applications in the fields of environmental monitoring and security, utilizing the latest technologies to develop solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities of each domain. The role involves developing and implementing data science and machine learning algorithms for on-board processing of remote sensing data on satellites, drones and other resource constrained edge platforms, contributing to end-to-end data processing pipelines, developing supporting software infrastructure, and collaborating with data science, software, hardware and remote sensing teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement data science and machine learning algorithms for on-board processing of remote sensing data on satellites, drones and other resource constrained edge platforms.
Contribute to end-to-end data processing pipelines, from sensor data acquisition and on-board processing to useful data products.
Develop supporting software infrastructure, including data interfaces, automated testing, CI/CD, logging and deployment tooling.
Collaborate with data science, software, hardware and remote sensing teams, and contribute to customer projects.
Contribute to technical documentation in accordance with applicable space software standards.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering or a related field.
Experience with data science, machine learning, image processing or scientific data processing through work, research or academic projects.
Proven track record of building maintainable and testable software for embedded systems.
Good knowledge and strong interest in keeping up-to-date with embedded compute architectures (GPU/TPU/SoC).
Team player, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn.
Excellent command of English; Dutch is a plus.
