The Senior Electrical Engineer is a mission-critical contributor to the design and development of high-power and control electronics for high-performance tethered drone systems. This role covers the full PCB design lifecycle, from schematic capture through layout, test, and sustainment, delivering robust electronics for demanding environments. You will collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to advance product quality and team capability in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Development and Design:- Design, develop, and maintain high-power and control electronics for aerial systems from initial concept through production
  • Contribute to all phases of PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and testing
  • Employ advanced PCB layout techniques
  • Utilize ECAD tools including Altium, Mentor Graphics PADS, Xpedition, Ansys, and HyperLynx for design and development tasks
  • Conduct electronics packaging with 3D modeling/CAD experience
  • Analysis and Mitigation:- Conduct electronics failure analysis and implement mitigation strategies to ensure product reliability
  • Apply RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 knowledge and associated noise mitigation techniques
  • Develop and maintain documentation covering design, manufacturing, and test processes
  • Collaboration and Integration:- Collaborate with mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to support integration and production of electronic subassemblies
  • Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely and quality manufacturing of electronic assemblies
  • Contribute to product roadmap discussions, including new features and product enhancements
  • Support design process activities including trade studies, design reviews, and requirements development

Requirements

  • Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or comparable)
  • 5–7 years of electronics and/or PCB design experience
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Computer on Module (CoM) and/or System on Module (SoM)
  • Proficiency with Altium, Mentor Graphics PADS, Xpedition, Ansys, or HyperLynx (or equivalent)
  • RF Systems/MIL-STD-461 and associated noise mitigation experience
  • Experience debugging complex electronics using test equipment, analysis tools, and design data
  • Ability to thrive in a high-tempo environment and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62), which includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, to meet export control compliance requirements
  • Willingness to travel as needed for demos, customer meetings, and relevant industry events (less than 10% annually)

  • Preferred Experience- Experience with drones, UAS, RC, or autonomous systems
  • Advanced PCB layout techniques for high-speed or high-power applications
  • Electronics packaging experience with 3D modeling/CAD tools
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers on electronic subassembly production
