Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity:

As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to designing RF electronic system components. We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills to design, develop, and deploy next-generation radio frequency systems for the US Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD).

At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform the industry. Our team develops systems that span multiple platform formfactors, including terrestrial rack-based systems, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), man-portable tactical kits, and space-based systems. That’s why we need you, an RF electrical engineer, to focus on building mission-critical solutions for survey, collection, precision geolocation, jamming, and spoofing of adversarial RF Signals of Interest (SOI), utilizing a wide array of vendor-agnostic Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and custom designs.

What You'll Work On:

  • Multi-Platform RF Integration: Design, package, and integrate RF architectures across diverse constraints, optimizing for Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) in man-portable or unmanned systems, thermal or radiation limits in space-based COTS, and thermal management in dense terrestrial racks.
  • SDR Implementation: Architect and interface RF front-ends with a broad ecosystem of commercial and defense SDR platforms to execute flexible SIGINT and Electronic Attack (EA) configurations.
  • Adversarial RF Mitigation: Develop hardware and algorithmic approaches for complex signal analysis, smart-jamming, and GPS/GNSS spoofing techniques against modern adversarial threats.
  • Geolocation Engineering: Implement and validate high-precision RF geolocation techniques, including Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA), Frequency Difference of Arrival (FDOA), and Angle of Arrival (AOA).
  • Simulation and Modeling: Model RF propagation, Link Budgets, cascade performance, and multi-emitter environments using advanced simulation suites.
  • Lab and Range Testing: Lead benchtop validation using hardware-in-the-loop setups and participate in field or range test events to evaluate system performance against simulated adversarial threats.

Take on exciting challenges in unique applications of RF systems with us as we develop customer solutions and build new and unique RF products.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in RF system or sub-system component design, including survey, collection, precision geolocation, jamming, and spoofing systems
  • Experience working with multiple vendor SDR platforms such as Ettus, NI USRP, Epiq Solutions, Per Vices, or open architectures
  • Knowledge of RF front-end components such as LNAs, PAs, switches, mixers, or filters, and their behavioral traits across varying environmental constraints
  • Ability to use high-end RF test equipment, including Vector Signal Generators (VSGs), Spectrum or Signal Analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience designing ruggedized field equipment or small form-factor payloads for unmanned vehicles
  • Knowledge of programming or interfacing with FPGA or DSP platforms using C++, Python, or MATLAB for real-time signal processing
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
