The Land Surveyor will conduct topographical, boundary, and engineering surveys across various project sites, operating GPS/GNSS receivers, total stations, and drone-based technologies. They will collect and analyze geospatial data to produce accurate drawings, maps, and reports, and support construction and engineering projects through setting out and site verification. The role involves collaborating with project managers and engineers to deliver high-quality survey outputs and maintaining survey equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographical, boundary, measured building, and engineering surveys across a variety of project sites.
  • Operate surveying equipment including GPS/GNSS receivers, total stations, laser scanners, and drone-based surveying technologies.
  • Collect, process, and analyse survey data to produce accurate drawings, maps, and reports.
  • Establish and verify survey control points and site benchmarks.
  • Prepare survey deliverables using CAD and geospatial software.
  • Support construction and engineering projects through setting out and site verification activities.
  • Ensure all surveys are completed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and health and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality survey outputs.
  • Maintain survey equipment and ensure calibration records are up to date.
  • Assist with the integration of drone survey data, photogrammetry, and GIS datasets where required.

Requirements

  • Chartered Ireland Land Surveyor is required
  • Proven experience as a Land Surveyor within construction, engineering, infrastructure, telecoms, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proficiency with GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, and surveying software.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS software, or similar geospatial platforms.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and data processing techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

  • Professional membership or accreditation is desirable.
  • Experience with drone surveying, laser scanning, or photogrammetry would be advantageous.
