BRINC is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure that every product we ship meets rigorous quality standards. The role involves performing in-process and final inspections for all BRINC products, identifying defects, and working with technicians to correct them. The inspector will partner with Quality, Test, and Design Engineering teams to identify critical-to-quality characteristics and measurement methods. This role is essential to supporting first responders who rely on BRINC's drones for life-saving missions.

Responsibilities

  • Use metrology equipment to ensure product performance for highly-complex hardware, including PCBAs, optics, harnessing, soldering, mechanical fastening, adhesives, etc.
  • Report non-conformances when defective material is found and establish a process for containing all suspect material.
  • Read/interpret work instructions and drawings to define and perform quality inspections.
  • Perform critical in-process and final inspections for assembled products and subassemblies, including optics, PCBAs, precision machined components, and composite components.
  • Develop SOPs for other inspectors (or technicians) to follow for day-to-day tasks.
  • Support Material Review Board discussions to determine product dispositions for nonconforming material.
  • Partner with manufacturing technicians to implement sustainable corrective actions when defects are root caused..

Requirements

  • 2+ Years as a technician in the aerospace, defence or medical industry
  • 2+ years of experience reading/interpreting work instructions, engineering drawings, and/or inspection plans
  • 2+ years of experience using hand tools
  • 2+ years of experience using calibrated tools, i.e. height gauges, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • 2+ Years as a quality inspector
  • Understanding of SCAR and Nonconformance reports (NCR)
  • Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) activities
  • ASQ Quality Inspector certification or similar
  • Certified inspector to IPC-610
  • Certified inspector to IPC-620
  • Familiar with automated inspection equipment, including Romer arms, comparators, CMMs, and other metrology software based inspection methods
