The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting, verifying, accepting or rejecting incoming material before it is stocked to inventory, and supporting manufacturing with in-process verification, containment actions, and quality feedback. The role includes visual verification, using inspection tooling, and test verifications of various product types including plastics and electronic components. This position is under the Quality and Training Org, reporting within the Supplier Quality Department at Teal Drones, a subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings.
Responsibilities
- Follow Incoming Quality Control process – conduct visual, dimensional and functional inspections/tests.
- Use inspection tooling such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, etc. to accurately measure and assess product
- Perform functional or parameter testing on electronic assemblies
- Follow the Nonconforming Material process – write nonconformance records and complete containment as necessary
- Keep records of inspection procedures, specifications, and results up to date
- Collaborate with production and engineering on inspection points and provide inspection feedback
- Work cross-functionally with engineers, purchasing, and inventory for a seamless process
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-5 years experience in quality control of consumer products
- Experience in manufacturing of aerospace goods and/or electronic components
- Familiarity of inspection methodologies and standards (e.g., AQL sampling) and how to apply them appropriately
- Ability to read technical drawings/specifications (GD&T)
Nice to have
- IPC-A-610 Certified and familiarity with IPC J-STD-001
- Experience working in ESD (static free) environments (e.g., ANSI S20.20)
- Experience as an Internal Auditor
- Associates or Bachelor’s in STEM
- FAA Part 107 certification
- Previous experience working with an AS9100 or IS9001 certified company
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating or familiarity with test plans
