This Senior Electronics Engineer will serve as a technical owner and hands-on contributor across the full lifecycle of DZYNE's aircraft and launcher electrical systems. The role involves circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, harness design, avionics/electronic system testing, and data analysis. The engineer will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.
Responsibilities
- Lead full PCB design cycle involving requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, functional verification, and performance tests
- Design, develop, integrate, and debug avionics systems/subsystems
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses connecting systems within the air vehicle
- Support design updates driven by product improvements, obsolescence, and evolving requirements
- Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to support new product development and active deployments in a fast-paced environment
- Mentor other engineers and promote sound engineering practices
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated capability in complex circuit board design, bring-up, signal/power integrity analysis, and validation
- Proven experience in designing electronics from concept to functional prototype, including hardware selection, documentation, system level integration and troubleshooting
- In-depth understanding of Analog/Mixed-signal, Digital, or RF circuit components
- Detailed working knowledge of common test equipment, and CAD tools such as Altium
- Excellent problem solving and planning skills
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have
- Experience in designing electronics for robotic and/or aircraft systems
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, common serial interfaces, high speed communication, and firmware/software integration
- UAV experience highly desirable
- Experience working in small to medium sized teams in a fast-paced R&D environment
- Familiarity with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing
- No Security Clearance is required, but it is highly desired
