As a Senior Systems Engineer at eyesAtop, you will own the system architecture and lead the technical strategy across hardware, software, and testing domains. You will translate operational requirements into reality, driving the development of hardware-integrated systems from concept to deployment. This role involves hands-on development, integration, and failure investigation to ensure subsystems work seamlessly together, balancing agile development with defense-grade reliability.

Responsibilities

  • System Ownership: Serve as the end-to-end owner and architect of hardware-integrated systems, driving the transition from initial concept to operational deployment Ensure robust design, integration, and performance while meeting rigorous defense-grade requirements
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the technical strategy and execution across hardware, software, algorithmic, testing, and production domains to ensure cohesive product development
  • Hands-on Development & Integration: Drive rapid Proofs-of-Concept (POCs), complex system integrations and failure investigations, getting hands-on to ensure subsystems function seamlessly together
  • Balance flexible, agile, and fast-paced development cycles with the discipline required to build reliable, high-grade systems ready for mission-critical deployment

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 6+ years as a Systems Engineer, Architect, Integration Lead or similar roles in multidisciplinary fields (Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Drones, Aerospace/Defense). At least 3 years in a systems engineering role
  • Technical Skills: Exceptional systems-level thinking with the ability to design and troubleshoot complex multidisciplinary systems, that include digital communications, RF, algorithms, software and hardware
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive technical alignment across diverse teams without direct managerial authority
  • Autonomy: The ability to operate independently, taking ambiguous requirements and turning them into a demonstrated, validated system

Nice to have

  • Direct drone/UAS experience, including autopilot and payload integration, RC/telemetry links, and flight testing
  • Background in defense or military systems, including regulated V&V and qualification processes
