Senior Systems Engineer - Aerial Systems

As a Senior Systems Engineer for Aerial Systems at Kela, you will design, implement, and maintain aerial systems, driving system architecture and specifications through hands-on prototyping. You will support product transitions from prototype to mass production, integrate complex hardware and software for tactical environments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the system lifecycle. The role also involves maintaining documentation and training team members on system updates and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive the system architecture and detailed specifications for our aerial systems through rapid iterations and hands-on prototyping.
• Support and oversee the transition of the products from prototype and certification phases into mass production.
• Deploy, configure, and integrate complex hardware and software components to ensure optimal system performance in tactical environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA, field operations) throughout the entire system lifecycle
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and provide training for team members on system updates, safety procedures, and compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in system engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience in multi-disciplinary aerial systems development including the flying platform itself.
• Knowledge and proven experience with aerial systems safety standards, compliance, and defense regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

• Experience scaling a product from prototype to mass production- a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with FPV drone development and operations - a strong advantage.
