This Principal Systems Engineer role supports the Tactical Ground Equipment (TGE) Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) Base Operations Networks (BONES) program at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. The engineer will develop and execute software test plans, design automated and manual test solutions, integrate hardware and software for system testing, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and compliance. The position is based on-site in Huntsville, Alabama and requires an active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute software test plans and procedures
  • Design automated and manual test solutions for embedded and application software
  • Analyze requirements and formulate test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
  • Integrate hardware, software, and test equipment for complete system testing
  • Document and track defects; work with development to resolve issues
  • Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, and code inspections
  • Ensure solutions adhere to quality, safety, and compliance standards
  • Support verification/validation, integration, and acceptance activities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • CONUS travel up to 20% may be required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of experience, Master's with 3 years of experience
  • Active DoD secret clearance
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency in writing or executing SQL queries for data analysis or database management
  • Prior work with embedded systems, avionics, or defense systems.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering Tools (MBSE)
  • Knowledge of Agile development processes
  • Ability to work on-site in Huntsville

  • Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
