As an Autonomy Engineer Intern, you will join Skydio's computer vision and deep learning team to architect and implement algorithms that run on every Skydio drone. You will take direct ownership of a project that advances the team's capabilities, researching and prototyping new approaches, implementing new features, and characterizing performance of the software and hardware stack. This is a research-oriented internship where you will work closely with core software developers to push the next generation of autonomy algorithms into real products.
Responsibilities
- Enable rapid research and development of intelligent systems with advanced autonomous capabilities beyond anything that exists in the world today
- Research, prototype, and generally assess the feasibility of new approaches
- Imagine and then implement new features that unlock magic for our users
- Characterize and quantify the performance of core components of the software and hardware stack
Requirements
- High proficiency in C++ and/or Python and PyTorch
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for one or more of the following: computer vision, deep learning, motion planning, dynamics and controls, 3D graphics, distributed systems, and tools/infrastructure
- Solid software engineering foundation and a commitment to writing clean, well-architected code
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small team environment
