Tampere, Finland

The company designs and manufactures fully autonomous drones that rely on advanced computer vision and machine learning. As part of the imaging team in Tampere, the intern helps test and characterize the camera modules used in current and next-generation products and designs the lab setups and software that make that testing possible. Depending on interests and background, the role can also involve image quality analysis, ISP tuning, optics simulations, or work on the Qualcomm-based camera software stack. It is a part-time position alongside studies, with flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new lab setups and fixtures for camera and image quality testing, including the software that drives them
  • Test and calibrate new camera modules against our requirements
  • Analyze measurement data and turn it into clear visualizations and reports that steer concrete design decisions
  • Depending on your interests and background: contribute to image quality analysis, ISP tuning, optics simulations, or development on our Qualcomm-based camera software stack

Requirements

  • You are studying toward a degree in a field such as electrical engineering, optics, photonics, computer vision, or computer science — with a solid foundation in one of these areas
  • Genuine enthusiasm for hands-on work in the lab with real hardware
  • Python or a comparable language for automating measurements, data analysis and visualization
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Working proficiency in English

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments or building your own measurement setups
  • Interest in cameras and photography
  • Familiarity with image quality metrics — resolution, noise, color — and how they are measured
  • Experience with optical design or simulation software
  • Exposure to embedded Linux or Qualcomm ISP
