Torch Technologies is seeking Systems Engineers at multiple levels to join a small analysis team supporting US Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) and Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS) projects. The role involves analyzing integrated defense systems including radars, command and control architectures, drones, and missile systems. You will develop and validate test results, create automation pipelines with Bash, build data analysis tools in Python and MATLAB, and author technical reports. You will also lead technical discussions with government customers and present complex results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis: Develop and validate test results for radar performance, C2 logic, and kinetic interceptors.
  • Automation: Create robust automation pipelines using Bash scripting to streamline simulation runs, environment setup, and data collection.
  • Analytics Pipeline: Develop sophisticated data reduction and analysis tools using Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) and MATLAB.
  • Visualization: Create high-impact technical plots and visualizations to communicate system performance.
  • Technical Documentation: Author comprehensive technical reports, design documents, and verification/validation (V&V) reports for delivery to the customer.
  • Requirements Engineering: Lead technical discussions with government customers to translate operational needs into concrete simulation requirements.
  • Briefing & Presentation: Present complex test results to stakeholders and senior leadership, providing clear recommendations based on data.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-12 years system design experience, including hardware/software integration.
  • Professional experience performing analysis of tactical weapon systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for mathematical analysis and report generation.
  • Understanding of the physics and logic governing Radars, C2 systems, and Missile/Drone kinematics.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher).

Nice to have

  • Experience performing analysis of tactical CUAS systems pre and post live fire test events.
  • Experience using Podman (or Docker) for application deployment and environment isolation.
  • Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Previous experience acting as the Primary Technical Point of Contact (POC) for a government program office.
  • Familiarity with DIS/HLA standards for distributed simulations.

Benefits

  • Torch Technologies is proud to offer a stable and professional work environment, a competitive salary, and an excellent, comprehensive benefit package including: ESOP participation, 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, Health Saving Accounts and Health Reimbursement Accounts, EAP, education assistance, paid time off, and holidays.
