Westgold Resources is seeking a motivated Underground Mine Surveyor to join the team at Great Fingall, a historic underground gold operation in Western Australia. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, the role supports underground development and production through survey control networks, database and model management, UAV surveying, and statutory survey compliance. The position offers mentoring from experienced Senior and Authorised Mine Surveyors, exposure to a range of survey technologies, and a pathway toward becoming an Authorised Mine Surveyor. It is a permanent full-time opportunity within a leading Australian gold producer, with career progression across multiple underground and open pit operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain survey control networks to Mines Department standards (surface and underground)
Develop and manage survey databases and models
Establish drone survey control networks for surface and underground operations
Conduct detailed surveys and ensure accurate mine model updates
Prepare accurate end-of-month reporting and survey calculations
Monitor design implementation and address deviations appropriately
Support operational teams with layout and technical guidance
Support ongoing development of UAV survey capabilities
Ensure compliance with WHS Act 2020, Mines Regulations 2022, and Company policies

Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science
Minimum 18 months' experience in a mine survey environment
Underground mining experience
Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence

Nice to have

Experience with Leica Total Stations, Trimble GPS, and Geosight CMS
Exposure to Deswik or equivalent mining software.
Experience operating UAV technology
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1 or 2) or ability to obtain
