The Aircraft Integration Technician is responsible for creating, modifying, routing, and installing aircraft system wire harnesses and electrical and avionics systems on manned and unmanned aircraft. The role involves installing, modifying, and testing aircraft structural, composite, avionics, and/or electrical systems to ensure they meet quality standards. The technician performs maintenance and technical support on equipment and integrated systems, completes required documentation, and works safely according to established procedures. This position reports to the Lead Integration Technician and Director of Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Installs, modifies and tests aircraft structural, composite, avionics, and/or electrical systems to ensure they are operational and meet required quality standards
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems
- Completes all required documentation in accordance with established company procedures and/or government and customer technical order requirements
- In the absence of established procedures, confers with Lead Integration Technician and / or Manufacturing Engineer
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Requirements
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in aircraft assembly, integration and/or maintenance
- Applicant must have considerable knowledge of structural, composite, mechanical and electrical aircraft processes, systems and associated regulations
- Aircraft related assembly/repair/installation processes, tools, composites, templates, fixtures, testing and measuring devices as well as judgment to determine correct process, tools, and/or material
- Reading, interpreting, and explaining blueprints, drawings, and maintenance manuals
- Installing, modifying, and adjusting various complex aircraft assemblies and structures
- Experience in the use of various hand tools and aircraft electrical crimping tools
- Experienced in routing electrical harnesses and cables
