Team Lead - Embedded Linux (m/f/d)

As an Embedded Linux Team Lead, you will provide technical and disciplinary leadership to an embedded Linux development team. You will plan, coordinate, and prioritize development tasks, take technical ownership of embedded Linux platforms (BSP, kernel, drivers, user space), and collaborate closely with product management, hardware development, and embedded software development. Your role involves ensuring high code quality and architectural standards, coaching and mentoring team members, and contributing to technology decisions and long-term strategic development. Your work enables high-performance, robust, and reliable embedded systems for demanding real-world conditions.

Responsibilities

• Technical and disciplinary leadership of an embedded Linux development team
• Planning, coordination, and prioritization of development tasks and resources
• Technical ownership of embedded Linux platforms (BSP, kernel, drivers, user space)
• Close collaboration with product management, hardware development, and embedded software development
• Ensuring high code quality, architectural standards, and robust development processes
• Coaching, mentoring, and continuous development of team members
• Contribution to technology decisions and long-term strategic development

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in embedded Linux development
• Strong expertise in:
• Linux kernel, device trees, and driver development
• Build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot
• C/C++ (ideally also shell scripting and Python)
• Experience in technical leadership or in a senior/lead engineer role
• Structured, solution-oriented working style
• Very good English skills (German language skills are a plus)
